Yes!! I second this
I was going to suggest the same person.
Thanks you for posting such a video Missy ma’am . I love your videos . This one’s great馃挄
For my nails I use the apricot kernel cuticle oil by Alverde (which you can find in the German chain DM) – it smells delicious and I don’t need to apply nail polish as it gives my nails a natural shine! Highly recommended!
Nails grow quicker in summer!!! thats a scientific fact 馃檪 As well as hair!!! I would recommend ”Simply nailogical”s video on how to grow your nails, really useful!!
Miss Caf茅ine
Yep, mine are the longest they’ve ever been and I’m glad I started taking care of them in the summer. I kept them painted the whole time, but everyone’s different 馃槉
Finally, another person who doesn’t paint their nails! I need to keep mine MAD short (like cut them once a week or more short, so just a little bit of white remains) or else I bite them, and I wish I could paint them so they look less awful, but I don’t have the time nor energy most days and it’s just…unpleasant.
Same here!
I have also always been terrible at doing nails. Great video, love the simple easy to do routine.
The best trilogy since Lord of the Rings. 馃憣
I always have my nails painted as for me it helps keep them from breaking. Like an extra layer of protection. Regular polish with me will chip within a couple days as well I’ve done everything they say to do in all these “How to make your manicure last” vedios and it still chips. My nails grow fast but are very thin so if I don’t have layers of polish (base coat, 2-3 coats of color, then 1-2 coats top coat) they break very easily. I like mine long and almond shaped. I use jojoba oil on my cuticles as often as I remember to. I try to do it multiple times a day. Keeping your cuticles in good condition really helps your nails to be stronger. I like that gel polish lasts and doesn’t chip unfortunately I developed an allergy to gel polish and can no longer wear it. The yellowing of the nail isn’t bad, its just staining. My nails are never “naked” so I don’t care if they’re yellow.
I love almond shape. Mine are naturally squared so I slightly do the same as you do with the file to get more of that look. Also my hands are small so that helps making them look longer and slimmer. No polish is one of my favorite look. To strenghten them, good diet, some oil with lemon essential oil is great
My tip for strong nails: I have always had weak, thin nails that would grow very slowly. I didn’t know what the problem was, because my hair has always been really thick and healthy, and even my toenails…not a problem. I tried biotin and it didn’t work. Well, last year I discovered the answer. I started taking parathyroid glandular (not vegan), and my nails immediately became stronger, smoother and started growing faster. This told me that my parathyroid, which produces parathyroid hormone (needed to utilise calcium correctly), was not functioning optimally. Since then I found an alternative answer to the glandulars. I bought a Photon Genie machine which energies your cells. When I put the machine around my neck regularly (where the parathyroid glands are), my nails grow long and strong again 馃檪 So, if you have a problem with weak nails, you might want to consider the health and functioning of your parathyroids glands.
Nail care tip that I’ve recently learned: when filing always file in the same direction. Going back and forth in a sawing motion makes it more likely that your nails will break.
I’ve always picked my nails, like my left ring finger used to be near the lunula short from picking at them. (The lunula, if you don’t know, is the half moon shape near the bottom of your nails. It’s the top of the nail plate which is where the nail grows from.)
This is the first year that I’ve been able to somewhat stop and grow my nails out. Honestly, keeping my hands hydrated with a hand cream helped so much, especially with strengthening them. And every once in a while I put a cuticle cream on overnight.
Your nails look lovely! Thank you for sharing your routine 馃槉. Mine used to break constantly, even though I kept them short. After researching online I started using gloves when washing dishes and using hand cream after EVERY time i wash my hands. I use sweet almond oil on the cuticles a few times a day too. This has worked wonders! 馃槉
My ‘tip’ is to use moisturizer. I found this out once I started med school, where paradoxically we need to keep our nails really short (but also healthy – any torn cuticle or cracked skin is a potential infection entry site). Since we have to disinfect our hands a lot and most of the disinfectants used contain a lot of alcohol (and therefore are drying the skin out), we also use a lot of hand cream. I was always a nail-biter, and now my nails are so strong (and they grow faster!) I can’t bite them off, so I have to clip them/file them 馃檪
Loved this video! I prefer a natural nail these days myself. Perfect timing for this topic because I started taking a probiotic supplement every day and my nails have grown like never before within a month! I had no idea that was a benefit but apparently it is!
For me I notice when I message my scalp when my hair is oily my nails tend to get more stronger and longer. I usually do an oil treatment for my hair with jojoba oil or coconut oil when my hair is greasy. So I think the combo of my natural oil and the add on oil really helps.
since I only pulled or pushed the file in one direction on my nails they have never chipped since. I used to have really bad nails but this helped me. Also investing in a good nail hardener like the one from “micro cell” improved the strengh of my nails. It is really not the cheapest nail hardener but I麓ve tried many and this particulair one was by far the most helpful.
Taking multivitamins and regularly applying cuticle oil (even on the nail bed)聽really helps keep my nails strong. Also, using a strengthener too often on your nails can actually聽make them brittle and dry, cuticle oil keeps them strong and healthy while keeping flexibility – this flexibility is needed to make sure your nails don’t break the second they come into contact with something harder than them. I got the cuticle oil tip from Simply Nailogical, she’s basically the nail queen of YouTube. 馃檪
Long comment alert! I grew up with naturally long nails from birth, so I’ve time to experiment and conduct some trial and errors with my nails. Now at 31, my nails began growing weaker especially in the winter being in a more dry environment. (Your body constantly changes with age ladies!) I’ve long known that a hair, skin, and nails supplement is ideal for women, but I have been taking so many other vitamins and herbs with little to no out of the norm nail problems until now. So, I began taking Dead Sea collagen for my hair, skin, and nails. It has done WONDERS for my nails, and the fact that you’ve been taking Biotin is probably why your nails have been growing so healthy. That’s your proof it’s working lol. I’ve always had troublesome cuticles that produce this dagger like hang nails and rough skin around the sides of my fingers just below my nails. So, I made it my business to update my nail care routine to better take care of them along with taking the collagen instead of how I used to handle it (bite the hang nails off, use a nail clipper to clip the cuticles off, no cuticle oil or moisturizer, sawing them back and forth, and barely any kind of self manicure with/without painting them). For me, I found that keeping my cuticles trimmed as well as pushed back help to keep my nails growing healthy and strong. When I groom my nails, I always start with dry hands/fingers, push my cuticles with a cuticle pusher similar to the one you used in your video, but it has more of a pumice texture to it. So, it helps exfoliate the tough cuticles away on the sides of my fingers, and then when I have all the cuticles pushed back, I apply some cuticle softener all over my fingers. I then, let that set for a few minutes, and I take my cuticle trimmer, which is more like a tiny forked blade at the end of a cuticle pusher handle, and slowly glide the cuticle trimmer all around my cuticle bed where all of the old raised cuticle is. Once I’ve done that to my satisfaction, I wash the rest of the cuticle softener off, clean off my cuticle pusher and trimmer, sanitize them with witch hazel while my hands dry, do a final hand pat down to get any excess drops of water off, and then apply cuticle oil on my cuticles right away. The kind of cuticle oils varies on the time of year, I’m just like that lol.
I like different scents and kinds of oils depending on the season, how my skin and nails are behaving, and what’s available. I rub in the oil all over my cuticles, even under the nails, and then I apply a nice thick hand moisturizer. Sometimes I just add some drops of oil into my hand moisturizer to kill two birds with one stone, excuse the expression lol, and majority of the time I do this right before bed. That way, I won’t have to worry about undoing the process, and all of the oils and good ingredients from my moisturizer soak into my skin better. When you sleep is when your body is at its highest repairing process, and I also take my vitamins and herbs right before bed for this reason too. The next day or a few days after that I’ll use my glass finger nail file to give my nails more of a shape since if given them more room to grow. Oh! and I do occasionally paint my own nails, even though I LOVE a good gel manicure, I just CAN’T STAND the acetone process of taking it off. So, when I do paint my own nails I add a ridge filler first, because I have uneven ridges in my nail beds. I’ve researched this for years, and all I could find was that this was hereditary, it’s because of age, and there really isn’t any thing to change it. Until I started watching Nail Career Education on here, Youtube. That’s when I found out about ridge filler, and it’s a base coat all in one! It dries super fast as well, and sometimes I use it on it’s own for an even more natural manicure matte looking finish. So, if anyone has any ridges on their nails, and it causes your nails to have cracks at the tips of the nails or uneven surfaces under your nail polish I would give this a try. 馃挏馃挋馃槝馃拝馃徑
Wow! It looks as though you just got a French tip manicure! Your nails are so beautifully and naturally white :O
Question: Do you also follow that routine for your toe nails? Great routine btw! 馃檪
