Love these tips! So helpful! How do you prevent or clean the nastiness that happens under your nails when they grow out? Also how do you keep nails thick and healthy as they grow longer? Mine are always flimsy and chip off before they can get longer than the tip of my fingers. Lastly, why do nails look yellowish after removing polish and what can be done to prevent that?

Could I ask what cuticle pusher and scraper you’d recommend? I have such dry cuticles and even when I try my best to push them back and trim the next day they look awful and dry (despite exfoliating before and oiling after!)

When you have a bad nail biting habit.
To those who say bc of dirt, germs, covid or anything of the like would or should help stop someone from biting their nails I can say from personal experience of more than 40 yrs of doing so if someone is an avid, every chance they get, down to the nubs, nail biter this is NOT going to stop them nor help in any way. I know you’re trying to help and that’s great but it’s an addiction of sorts, an emotional habit (something I’ve learned again from personal experience). It takes much more drastic measures to stop and every individual is different, thus it’s different for everyone. With myself I had to work through my personal issues and give them to God Almighty and when I did I completely stopped the nasty habit. I’ve completely stopped for about 5 months now!

@Saved by GRACE I am a long time nail biter as well. I heard years ago that sometimes we bite our nails to self-soothe and that may have started in very early childhood as an infant whose needs were not met. Pacifier, nurturing, bonding, etc. My mom didnโt believe in pacifiers. I sucked my thumb until I was about 3. My mom smoked 4 packs of cigarettes a day, which was her way of self-soothing. So interesting.

I’m 63, never had a manicure. Lots of hard work and washing my hands constantly (you know, covid). So NOW I want to polish my nails, but I know NOTHING. Your video is a beginning for me. Hi Yvonne, I just wanted to add that if you want a nice, temporary ‘salon quality’ (ive never been!) pair of nails that you can depend on in a pinch, I really like the kind that you press on, because they are already stick on the back. It makes it easier to look nice without struggling with messy polish. I hope this helps, everyone deserves to look and feel happy with themselves
@Selena Not good to take risks like that when the entire population isn’t immune to it. It’d be different if it were, say, a vending machine that kills 8 people a year. Covid killed lots more than that.
